Broad Oak is a small hilltop hamlet on the outskirts of the old market town of Sturminster Newton. It has a population of approx. 150 people and is made up of 70 houses & smallholdings. The Chapel is the only meeting place in Broad Oak and there are no shops.Residents either travel into the  market  town of Sturminster Newton or further afeild for all their day to day needs.

The chapel at Broad Oak was opened in 1869 and is now a Class of Sturminster Newton Methodist Church. It is perhaps one of the smallest  surviving chapels in the connexion..

With an average attendance of 12-15 local people at our monthly service, this number is swelled  for our many "special service" These include Chapel Anniversary, Harvest and a Christmas Carol service.

A Coffee Morning & Bring & Buy is held 4 times a year, the proceeds of which initially financed the refurbishment of the building inside and out bringing the chapel back from the brink of closure. Most coffee mornings are now held mainly for local charities.
